Rumsey Students Engage at Model UN Event

Rumsey students recently joined peers from The Frederick Gunn School and Washington Montessori School for a Model United Nations conference for Middle School students.

The event, which was hosted by Gunn, enabled students to develop their communication skills through debates, negotiations, and committee work. "We also solved problems, such as a zombie apocalypse and humans having to immigrate to Mars," said Tegan Hunter '26.

All students were actively engaged and presented with certificates for their enthusiastic participation, and some Rumsey students were honored with additional merit: Penelope Wollowick '25 and Yeesue Seo '25 for Most Improved Delegates, and Gugulethu Ndlovu '26 for Best Delegate.

"We had a great time and couldn’t believe how quickly the hours went by," said Daphnee Bodson '26

This unique opportunity provided a platform for learning, fun, and camaraderie with fellow students in the community.
